Rich Heilman is a Developer Advocate with the SAP Global Developer & Community Relations team at SAP. In this role, Rich focuses on developer outreach and technology adoption for both the ABAP development and HANA development topics. Prior to this, he was a Development Architect with the S/4HANA Enterprise Architecture team at SAP Labs, LLC. In this role, he was focused on driving special pilot and incubation projects with a focus on validating new enterprise product, technology, and architecture approaches with the goal of actively helping to shape SAP’s future Cloud ERP architecture. Previously, he was a Director with the SAP HANA Product Management team where he focused on SAP HANA development tools and languages. Previously, he was a member of the Enterprise Performance Management(EPM) Customer Solution Adoption(CSA) group as well as the EPM Solution Management group at SAP, where he was focused on technical aspects of the SAP Planning and Consolidation, version for NetWeaver product. His first role at SAP was as a Developer with the EPM Architecture team where he was focused on re-platforming the Business Planning and Consolidations(BPC) product on to SAP Netweaver. Before joining SAP in 2007, he worked for an SAP customer as an ABAP Developer for 6 years. Rich is also the co-author of the SAP Press book, Next Generation ABAP Development. He is also a regular contributor to the SAP Community Network. He has also been recognized as an SAP Mentor/Alumnus and SAP HANA Distinguished Engineer.
