Transport for NSW’s Health & Safety mobile apps are used daily by more than 6,300 staff in operations, engineering, and maintenance. Built on an outdated platform, these apps were costly to maintain, hard to adapt, and prone to high defect rates.

In 2023–24, TfNSW modernised these apps with SAP Mobile Development Kit (MDK) on a low-code hybrid platform, enabling a single code base across iOS, Android, and web. Delivered through the Equip program’s first Agile sprint cycles — embedding business users, vendors, and change teams — the project achieved a whisper-quiet go-live, major performance improvements, reduced technical debt, and a future-ready foundation for mobile innovation.
