Raymond is a cultural representative of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council presenting acknowledgments to country and smoking ceremonies. Due to his connection to Country and his knowledge of culture, he has been given permission from Elders in many communities to perform ceremony and use his ability to read the landscape and apply his knowledge in heritage consultancy to assist in protecting their Country and culture.

Raymond 'Bubbly' Weatherall is a Gomeroi man from Northwest New South Wales. He's an activist, social justice advocate and land defender. Bubbly strives to strengthen knowledge and life through cultural learning and understanding to assist and empower people and community. Maintaining language and cultural practices instil strength and pride in future generations for a stronger community.

He’s lived in Gadigal, Wangal and Tharawal Country for the last 48yrs and sat with Knowledge Holders from many Countries in that time who have reinvigorated shared song, dance and story through our Songlines. His connection to this Country stems from ceremony through the river systems and significant sites on this Country, building strong connections with the local Aboriginal community and also being a knowledge holder of Aboriginal Lore, Culture and Heritage.

Raymond performs cultural smoking ceremonies and cleansing ceremonies. Raymond comes from a line of healers and has a unique ability to use culture for strength-based healing to overcome lost barriers and the effects of intergeneration and transgenerational trauma.

Raymond hopes to one day see the educational sector implement 1st Nations (Indigenous) studies/curriculum into the schooling system to educate our future generations on Aboriginal history and culture.

Raymond is passionate about 1st Nations Lore, Culture & Heritage Raymond is proud to be part of the worlds oldest living civilisation and culture in the world.

He was born into the struggle and grew up standing on the front line with his family and community. The fight for equality, justice, human rights, land protection and our children, is a long one. Bubbly perseveres, hoping to instil a pride in culture, language and protection of heritage, that his children will continue.
