Customer Case Study: Secure, Scalable HR Reporting with SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud
Description

Following the 2025 rollout of SAP SuccessFactors across 90 independently operated stores supporting over 14,000 employees, Foodstuffs South Island faced a familiar challenge: HR and payroll reporting had not kept pace with the new platform. Legacy reports were slow to update, difficult to maintain, and struggled to deliver in a federated co-operative structure.

We implemented SAP Datasphere as a governed data layer and SAP Analytics Cloud for dashboards and self-service reporting. Tight SAP integration simplified data modelling, while granular Data Access Controls were designed to restrict visibility by role, store, and payroll area — a critical requirement in a multi-entity payroll environment.

The result is a modern HR reporting experience where HR teams can access intuitive dashboards and create their own insights without waiting on IT. Report delivery has improved giving the business faster answers while maintaining strong data governance across all stores.

Key Takeaways:

  • Moving beyond standard SuccessFactors reporting to flexible, user-driven analytics
  • Practical lessons integrating SAP Datasphere and SAC with SuccessFactors data
  • Designing secure, role-based HR reporting in a federated, multi-entity environment
